Galloup's Boogie Man
An articulated sculpin imitation with a big personality, Galloup’s Boogie Man sounds like a nightmare but swims like a dream!
I didn’t have wood duck gold mallard flank or olive wool, so I played mad scientist and died my own for this fly (complete with fuchsia feather tips for fun)!
It was exceedingly challenging to fit the entirety of this tie in one reel, so please note:
The second hook – once the trailer wire and eyes are attached – is constructed almost exactly as the first, with a shorter, more sparse tuft of marabou and flash at the bend to blend the hooks together for a cohesive fly. Once the copper wire rib is brought forward and the top feathers are in place, the head is formed from wool and trimmed.
